The Studio Display / iMac 5K ships a 27-inch panel at 5120×2880 — 218 pixels per inch. At the default 2× scaling, macOS renders a workspace that looks like 2560×1440 points while drawing every element with four physical pixels.

5K at 27 inches — the 218 PPI panel of the Apple Studio Display and, before it, the 5K iMac (2014–2020). A full 4K video frame fits pixel-for-pixel with room left over for editing tools, which made it a video-production staple.
